When shopping for insurance there are multiple ways to compare prices from different insurance companies. The easiest way by far to lower the rate you pay for Jeep Wrangler insurance is to perform an online rate comparison. This can be done by using one of the methods below.
You can choose any of those ways to find more affodable coverage, but make sure you are using exactly the same coverage information on every quote. If each company quotes differing limits it’s impossible to make an equal comparison. Even a minor difference in coverage limits can mean a large discrepancy in price. Learning about specific coverages of insurance can be of help when determining which coverages you need and the correct deductibles and limits. Policy terminology can be ambiguous and reading a policy is terribly boring.
Collision coverages – Collision insurance covers damage to your Wrangler caused by collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision insurance covers things like sideswiping another vehicle, colliding with another moving vehicle, driving through your garage door, hitting a parking meter and sustaining damage from a pot hole. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so you might think about dropping it from lower value vehicles. You can also increase the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Coverage for liability – This can cover damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property. It protects YOU from legal claims by others, and doesn’t cover your own vehicle damage or injuries.
Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. Your policy might show policy limits of 100/300/100 that translate to $100,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, $300,000 for the entire accident, and property damage coverage for $100,000. Some companies may use a combined single limit or CSL which provides one coverage limit with no separate limits for injury or property damage.
Liability insurance covers claims such as medical expenses, legal defense fees, pain and suffering and funeral expenses. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a personal decision, but buy as high a limit as you can afford.
Medical costs insurance – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for short-term medical expenses for things like dental work, nursing services, ambulance fees and hospital visits. They can be used in conjunction with a health insurance plan or if you do not have health coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants as well as if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – Comprehensive insurance covers damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a bird, falling objects, theft, hitting a deer and damage from flooding. The most you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the actual cash value, so if the vehicle is not worth much consider dropping full coverage.
UM/UIM Coverage – This coverage protects you and your vehicle when other motorists either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as damage to your Jeep Wrangler.
Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, their limits can quickly be used up. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is very important. Normally these limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
People switch companies for any number of reasons including extreme rates for teen drivers, being labeled a high risk driver, policy non-renewal and not issuing a premium refund. No matter why you want to switch, finding a great new company is pretty simple and you could end up saving a buck or two.

If you have a good history and live in the vicinity of Grand Rapids, Michigan, check out State Farm. You might get cheaper rates. Left Sentry to switch. I’m a pretty good driver though. Online quotes are the way to go. I don’t put full coverage on it.
