Have you had enough of paying out the nose to make your auto insurance payment? You are no different than many other consumers. Multiple auto insurance companies compete for your insurance dollar, and it can be difficult to compare rates to find the absolute lowest price
It’s important to do rate comparisons at least once a year since insurance rates fluctuate regularly. Just because you found the best rate on 90 insurance six months ago you may be paying too much now. Forget anything you know (or think you know) about auto insurance because you’re going to get a crash course in the right way to remove unneeded coverages and save money.
If you have a current insurance policy or are shopping for new coverage, you will benefit by learning to cut your premiums while maximizing coverage. Choosing the best insurance company for you is not rocket science. Consumers only need to know the proper way to compare price quotes online.
There are a lot of ways you can shop for insurance but one way is less time-consuming than others. You can waste hours talking about coverages with agents in your area, or you could save time and use online quoting to achieve your goal.
Many insurance companies participate in a marketplace where prospective buyers submit one quote, and each participating company can provide price quotes for coverage. This system prevents you from having to do repetitive form submissions for every insurance company.

The only drawback to using this type of system is that you can’t choose the providers you want pricing from. If you would rather choose specific insurance companies to compare, we put together a list of insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
The method you choose is up to you, but ensure you’re using the same coverage data for every quote you compare. If you use unequal deductibles or liability limits you will not be able to find the best deal for your Audi 90.
Properly insuring your vehicles can get expensive, but you may be missing some discounts that can help lower your rates. Some discounts will apply at the time of quoting, but occassionally some discounts must be asked about prior to getting the savings.
Drivers should understand that most credits do not apply to all coverage premiums. The majority will only reduce the price of certain insurance coverages like comp or med pay. Even though it may seem like all those discounts means the company will pay you, you aren’t that lucky.
The best auto insurance companies and the discounts they provide are included below.
If you need lower rates, check with every company how many discounts you can get. Savings might not apply in every state. To view auto insurance companies with the best discounts, click here to view.
When buying coverage for your vehicles, there really is not a single plan that fits everyone. Everyone’s situation is unique so your insurance should reflect that These are some specific questions may help highlight whether you may require specific advice.
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, you may need to chat with a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, take a second and complete this form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area. It’s fast, free and can provide invaluable advice.
Consumers can’t avoid all the ads for cheaper car insurance by companies like State Farm, Allstate and Geico. All the ads advertise claims that drivers can save some big amount if you get a free car insurance quote and switch to them.
How is it possible that every company can make almost identical claims? This is how they do it.
All the different companies give the best rates for the type of insured that will most likely be profitable. A good example of a desirable risk might be described as married and over the age of 30, carries high limits, and drives less than 5,000 miles a year. Someone who fits those characteristics will most likely get cheap rates and will most likely save if they switch.
Potential insureds who do not match those standards may receive higher premium rates and this can result in the customer not purchasing. The ads say “drivers who switch” not “all people who quote” save that much when switching. That’s why insurance companies can make claims that they all have the best premium rates. Because every company is different, you need to get a wide range of price quotes. It’s just not possible to know which car insurance company will fit you best based on your risk profile.
Learning about specific coverages of a insurance policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need at the best deductibles and correct limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be ambiguous and reading a policy is terribly boring. Below you’ll find the usual coverages offered by insurance companies.
Collision coverages – Collision coverage covers damage to your 90 resulting from colliding with another car or object. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision coverage pays for things such as sustaining damage from a pot hole, damaging your car on a curb and sideswiping another vehicle. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. You can also bump up the deductible to bring the cost down.
Medical costs insurance – Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP pay for immediate expenses for things like EMT expenses, pain medications and nursing services. They are used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. They cover both the driver and occupants and also covers if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not an option in every state but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
UM/UIM Coverage – This protects you and your vehicle when the “other guys” either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include medical payments for you and your occupants and also any damage incurred to your Audi 90.
Because many people have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage is a good idea.
Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – This coverage pays for damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive can pay for claims like damage from flooding, rock chips in glass, damage from a tornado or hurricane, theft and hail damage. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
Liability car insurance – Liability coverage provides protection from damage or injury you incur to people or other property in an accident. It protects YOU from claims by other people. It does not cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You might see values of 25/50/25 which stand for a limit of $25,000 per injured person, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and a total limit of $25,000 for damage to vehicles and property.
Liability coverage protects against claims like medical services, pain and suffering and repair bills for other people’s vehicles. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a personal decision, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as large an amount as possible.
As you go through the steps to switch your coverage, do not reduce coverage to reduce premium. There have been many cases where someone sacrificed liability coverage limits only to find out that the savings was not a smart move. Your objective should be to buy enough coverage at the best price and still be able to protect your assets.
