Do you think you bought overpriced auto insurance? It’s quite common and there are many people just like you.
Having so many options, it is very difficult to find a more affordable insurer.
Locating the lowest cost protection is easy if you know what you’re doing. Essentially every vehicle owner who is shopping for car insurance should be able to reduce their rates. Although vehicle owners can benefit from knowing the way companies sell online and take advantage of how the system works.
Most major insurance companies allow consumers to get price estimates direct online. Comparing prices online is pretty easy as you just enter the amount of coverage you want on the page. After you complete the form, their system orders credit information and your driving record and generates a price based on the data you entered. Online quotes makes comparing rates easy, but the time it takes to visit several different sites and enter the same data into a form can be a bit tiresome and repetitive. But it’s very important to do this if you want to get lower prices.

The quickest way to locate the lowest prices uses one form to return rates from several companies at one time. It’s a real time-saver, eliminates repetitive work, and makes online quotes much easier to do. After sending your information, it gets priced and you are able to buy any one of the pricing results.
If a lower price is quoted, you simply finish the application and purchase the new policy. It takes 15 minutes at the most and you will know how your current rates stack up.
To quickly find out if lower rates are available, simply click here to open in new window and complete the simple form. If you currently have coverage, we recommend you type in the coverage information exactly as they are listed on your policy. This makes sure you will have a price comparison based on identical coverages.
Companies that sell car insurance do not list every possible discount in an easy-to-find place, so the list below contains a few of the more well known in addition to some of the lesser obvious discounts that you may qualify for.
You can save money using discounts, but most of the big mark downs will not be given to the overall cost of the policy. The majority will only reduce the cost of specific coverages such as comp or med pay. So even though they make it sound like you would end up receiving a 100% discount, companies wouldn’t make money that way. But any discount should help reduce the amount you pay for coverage.
Companies and a summarized list of policyholder discounts are shown below.
Check with every prospective company the best way to save money. Some of the earlier mentioned discounts might not apply in your area.
When it comes to choosing adequate coverage for your personal vehicles, there really is not a one size fits all plan. Each situation is unique and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. For example, these questions might point out whether or not you would benefit from an agent’s advice.
If you don’t know the answers to these questions but a few of them apply, then you may want to think about talking to a licensed agent. To find an agent in your area, fill out this quick form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier
Knowing the specifics of insurance helps when choosing which coverages you need and proper limits and deductibles. Policy terminology can be difficult to understand and reading a policy is terribly boring. Listed below are typical coverage types found on most insurance policies.
Comprehensive insurance will pay to fix damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. A deductible will apply then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a deer, falling objects, fire damage and damage from a tornado or hurricane. The most a insurance company will pay at claim time is the market value of your vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
This gives you protection when the “other guys” either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for injuries to you and your family and damage to your Isuzu Rodeo.
Since many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, their limits can quickly be used up. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage should not be overlooked. Frequently these coverages are similar to your liability insurance amounts.
Med pay and PIP coverage pay for bills such as prosthetic devices, EMT expenses, pain medications, X-ray expenses and surgery. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance program or if there is no health insurance coverage. It covers you and your occupants and also covers if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP is not available in all states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
This coverage pays for damage to your Rodeo caused by collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You will need to pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision coverage pays for claims such as crashing into a ditch, colliding with a tree, damaging your car on a curb, colliding with another moving vehicle and sideswiping another vehicle. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. Another option is to bump up the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.
Liability coverage provides protection from damage or injury you incur to people or other property that is your fault. This coverage protects you against other people’s claims. It does not cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Coverage consists of three different limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show limits of 50/100/50 that translate to a $50,000 limit per person for injuries, a total of $100,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and a total limit of $50,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Some companies may use one number which is a combined single limit that pays claims from the same limit and claims can be made without the split limit restrictions.
Liability insurance covers claims like repair costs for stationary objects, structural damage, medical expenses, loss of income and legal defense fees. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but consider buying as large an amount as possible.

Just my two cents. I live east of Bellevue, NE. Quoted quotes from Allstate, Liberty Mutual, and Eastwood for my Isuzu and am saving around $80 a year. I have several vehicles insured with them. Did it all online.

If you have a good history and live near Phoenix, Arizona, check out 21st Century. You might save some money. Liability only on my Rodeo.

Like your site, BTW. I live in a small town just outside of Boise, ID. I compared lots of rates. Saved right around $20 a month. State Farm was the cheapest option for me. I’m a pretty good driver though. :P
Valerie Byers
Located in Fargo, North Dakota and for me 21st Century had the lowest quote. Thankfully I’m not a high risk driver. I recommend comparing lots of rates. I don’t insure for physical damage though.

If you don’t have tickets and are close to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, check out State Farm. You might save some money. Not sure about claim service. I don’t have comp or collision coverage.

In Boston, MA, AAA had the best rates for my 1993 Isuzu Rodeo. Left Allstate to switch. BTW speeding tickets are not good. Hardly afford to drive anymore.

It all costs too much. Proud to be from Gaithersburg, Maryland. Got free quotes online for a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo. Ended up at about $120 savings annually. Went with Allstate. Was with Western Auto Insurance. Thankfully I have a good driving record. I don’t have comp or collision coverage.

I’ve insured with Progressive for a long time. Pretty cheap in Lewiston, ME.
Tawanna Rice
I’m in Portland, Oregon. Got car insurance quotes with American Family, Mercury, and some smaller one I can’t remember the name of for my Rodeo and I’m now saving $12 a month. I get lower rates because of my clean driving record. I just carry liability insurance.
Camille Griffin
I found pretty cheap rate quotes for a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo in Sioux Falls, SD. Ended up at darn near $80 every six months with Amica.
Benita Drake
I’ve had Allstate for years. I’m in Juneau, AK.
Genevieve Perez
Cheap car insurance? What’s that? From northwest of Knoxville, TN. Don’t remember every company but I ended up saving about $30 each month. Not sure if rates are cheaper online or not. Just liability coverage since it’s getting old.
Melany Tran
Anyone try to read their policy?
Raymond Tate
Like your site, BTW. From northwest of Denver, CO. Quoted quotes with The General, AIG Insurance, Sentry, and a couple others for my Isuzu and I think I saved around $20 each month. I get multi-vehicle and multi-policy discounts. I quoted rates online then called them. Full coverage costs too much.

Cheap is relative. I live on the east side of Fairbanks, AK. I got free quotes with AAA, Mercury, and Travelers for my Isuzu and saved $94 a year. They offer free online rate quotes.
