Finding the cheapest insurance for a Lexus SC 300 can turn out to be a lot of work, but you can learn these tips and make it easy. There are more efficient ways to compare insurance rates and we’ll show you the absolute fastest way to price shop coverage for a Lexus and get the lowest possible price from both online companies and local agents.
Finding the best rates is not that difficult. If you have a policy now or are shopping for new coverage, you can use these tips to cut your premiums and possibly find even better coverage. Consumers just need to understand how to buy car insurance on the web.
Comparing car insurance rates can be exhausting if you don’t understand the best way to get rate quotes. You can waste a few hours (or days) discussing policy coverages with local insurance agents in your area, or you can utilize online quotes for quick rates.
Many of the larger companies are enrolled in a marketplace that enables customers to only type in their quote data once, and each participating company then returns a price quote based on the submitted data. This system prevents you from having to do quotation requests for every car insurance company.

The only downside to doing it this way is you are unable to specify which carriers to get pricing from. If you wish to select individual companies to receive pricing from, we have a listing of companies who write car insurance in your area. Click to view list.
It’s your choice how you get your quotes, but try to use the exact same information for each quote you get. If you compare mixed coverages it’s impossible to determine the lowest rate for your Lexus SC 300.
Companies offering auto insurance don’t list all their discounts in a way that’s easy to find, so the below list has some of the best known and the harder-to-find discounts that may be available. If you do not check that you are getting every discount you qualify for, it’s possible you qualify for a lower rate.
A little note about advertised discounts, some credits don’t apply to all coverage premiums. The majority will only reduce the cost of specific coverages such as liability and collision coverage. If you do the math and it seems like you could get a free car insurance policy, you won’t be that lucky.
A few of the larger companies and a partial list of their discounts include:
When quoting, ask all the companies how you can save money. A few discounts might not apply everywhere. To see a list of companies with discount rates, follow this link.
Many different elements are used in the calculation when you quote your car insurance policy. Some are pretty understandable like your driving record, but some are less obvious such as your credit history or your financial responsibility. One of the most helpful ways to save on auto insurance is to to have a grasp of a few of the rating criteria that aid in calculating your auto insurance rates. When you understand what determines base rates, this allows you to make good choices that can help you get lower rates.
When buying the right insurance coverage, there really is no “best” method to buy coverage. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs.
Here are some questions about coverages that could help you determine if you might need an agent’s assistance.
If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you then you might want to talk to a licensed insurance agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, complete this form. It only takes a few minutes and can provide invaluable advice.
Consumers constantly see and hear ads for insurance savings by State Farm, Geico and Progressive. All the ads state the claim that drivers will save a bundle just by moving to them.
That’s great but how can every company lower your premium rates?
Companies provide the lowest rates for the type of driver that will most likely be profitable. For example, a profitable insured might be described as over the age of 50, has no tickets, and drives less than 5,000 miles a year. Any customer that meets those criteria will most likely get cheap prices and most likely will save money with a new company.
Potential insureds who don’t meet these stringent criteria may be required to pay a higher premium which translates to the customer buying from a different company. If you pay attention, the ads say “people that switch” but not “all drivers who get quotes” can save as much as they claim. That’s the way companies can make those statements. This really illustrates why it’s extremely important to do a quote comparison often. It is just not possible to predict which insurance companies will fit your personal profile best.
Having a good grasp of your auto insurance policy can be of help when determining appropriate coverage and proper limits and deductibles. The terms used in a policy can be impossible to understand and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording.
Protection from uninsured/underinsured drivers
Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage gives you protection from other motorists when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered losses include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Lexus SC 300.
Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is very important.
Coverage for liability
This can cover damages or injuries you inflict on a person or their property. This coverage protects you against claims from other people, and doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. Your policy might show values of 100/300/100 which means $100,000 bodily injury coverage, $300,000 for the entire accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property.
Liability can pay for claims such as court costs, repair costs for stationary objects and repair bills for other people’s vehicles. How much liability should you purchase? That is a personal decision, but buy as much as you can afford.
Comprehensive (Other than Collision)
Comprehensive insurance coverage pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You need to pay your deductible first then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage pays for things such as fire damage, hitting a bird, damage from flooding, hail damage and damage from getting keyed. The maximum payout a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Collision insurance
Collision coverage covers damage to your SC 300 resulting from a collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.
Collision coverage protects against claims such as driving through your garage door, scraping a guard rail, crashing into a ditch, backing into a parked car and hitting a mailbox. Collision coverage makes up a good portion of your premium, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from older vehicles. Drivers also have the option to bump up the deductible to save money on collision insurance.
Medical expense insurance
Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance kick in for bills for things like ambulance fees, pain medications, dental work and chiropractic care. The coverages can be utilized in addition to your health insurance program or if you do not have health coverage. They cover all vehicle occupants in addition to getting struck while a pedestrian. PIP coverage is only offered in select states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
Drivers leave their current company for a variety of reasons including not issuing a premium refund, extreme rates for teen drivers, unfair underwriting practices or policy cancellation. Whatever your reason, choosing a new insurance company can be less work than you think.
You just learned some good ideas how to save on 1993 Lexus SC 300 insurance. The key thing to remember is the more you quote auto insurance, the more likely it is that you will get a better rate. Consumers could even find that the biggest savings come from the smaller companies.
When trying to cut insurance costs, don’t be tempted to sacrifice coverage to reduce premiums. There are many occasions where consumers will sacrifice liability limits or collision coverage only to regret at claim time that saving that couple of dollars actually costed them tens of thousands. Your objective should be to find the BEST coverage at the best price, but don’t skip important coverages to save money.

Just my two cents. Found cheapest coverage with State Farm for my SC 300 and saved around $70 a year. I’m a pretty good driver though. I think I’ll get rid of full coverage next time.

Cheap is not always the best policy. I live just to the east of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Got rates from Western Auto Insurance, AIG Insurance, Liberty Mutual, and Sentry for my 1993 Lexus SC 300 and saved $64 a year. I think they have home insurance too. I don’t insure for physical damage though.
