Cheap 1993 Mercury Sable Car Insurance Rates

Want better insurance coverage rates for your Mercury Sable? Paying for overpriced Mercury Sable insurance can take a big chunk out of your family’s budget and possibly require you to analyze your spending habits. Doing a rate comparison is free and is an excellent way to reduce premiums and put more money in your pocket.

Many insurance companies vie for your business, and it can be difficult to compare rates and get the definite lowest rate possible.

It’s a great practice to quote other rates periodically because insurance prices change regularly. Just because you found the best deal for Sable coverage on your last policy the chances are good that you can find a lower rate quote today. Ignore everything you know about insurance coverage because I’m going to teach you the easiest way to remove unneeded coverages and save money.

Free insurance quotes

There are a lot of ways to compare insurance quotes, but there is one way that is easier and takes less work. You can waste a lot of time discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you can stay home and use online quotes to achieve your goal.

Most car insurance companies participate in a marketplace where insurance shoppers submit their information once, and each participating company can provide price quotes determined by their information. This eliminates the need for repetitive form submissions for each company.

The only downside to doing it this way is you can’t choose the companies to get quotes from. If you prefer to choose from a list of companies for rate comparison, we have assembled a list of insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

Take whichever approach you prefer, but make sure you use apples-to-apples information for each comparison quote. If you enter different deductibles it will be next to impossible to determine the best price for your Mercury Sable. Quoting even small variations in coverage limits can mean a large discrepancy in price. Just remember that comparing more rates from different companies will improve the odds of getting more affordable rates. Some companies don’t provide online quotes, so it’s important to also get rates from them as well.

Tailor your auto insurance coverage to you

When it comes to choosing coverage, there is no best way to insure your cars. Everyone’s situation is unique so your insurance needs to address that. Here are some questions about coverages that may help highlight if your situation may require specific advice.

  • How much liability do I need to cover my assets?
  • Why am I required to get a high-risk car insurance policy?
  • Am I getting all the discounts available?
  • Is a blown tire covered by insurance?
  • Can I rent a car in Mexico?
  • Is extra glass coverage worth it?
  • Can I still get insurance after a DUI?

If you’re not sure about those questions but one or more may apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to an agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, take a second and complete this form or click here for a list of auto insurance companies in your area.

Insurance coverages 101

Knowing the specifics of your policy helps when choosing the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. Insurance terms can be difficult to understand and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording. Shown next are the normal coverages available from insurance companies.

Liability – This coverage can cover damage that occurs to people or other property by causing an accident. This insurance protects YOU from claims by other people, and does not provide coverage for damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You commonly see values of 50/100/50 that translate to $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery.

Liability can pay for claims like structural damage, bail bonds and emergency aid. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a personal decision, but you should buy higher limits if possible.

Uninsured and underinsured coverage – This coverage protects you and your vehicle’s occupants when other motorists do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include medical payments for you and your occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Due to the fact that many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage should not be overlooked.

Coverage for medical payments – Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance kick in for short-term medical expenses like rehabilitation expenses, chiropractic care, X-ray expenses, doctor visits and dental work. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance plan or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants and also covers being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP coverage is not available in all states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay

Collision coverages – This coverage covers damage to your Sable caused by collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You will need to pay your deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision coverage protects against claims like hitting a parking meter, hitting a mailbox, colliding with another moving vehicle and rolling your car. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. Another option is to increase the deductible to save money on collision insurance.

Comprehensive coverages – Comprehensive insurance will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible then your comprehensive coverage will pay.

Comprehensive coverage pays for things such as damage from getting keyed, rock chips in glass and hitting a bird. The maximum payout you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle’s value is low it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Enjoyed the article. From northwest of Atlanta, GA. I quoted with Auto-Owners, Nationwide, and some smaller one I can’t remember the name of for my Mercury and I think I cut my rates about $20 each month. I have a couple other vehicles on the policy. Not sure if rates are cheaper online or not.

If you don’t have tickets and live in the vicinity of Lewiston, ME, check out Progressive. You might save some money. I quoted rates online then called them.

Will 21st Century do a SR22 in Vermont?

Cheap is relative. I live just outside Madison, WI. Quoted quotes from American Family, Esurance, and Mercury for my 1993 Mercury Sable and I think I cut my rates about $30 each month. Have a couple speeding tickets too. I used their website to get prices.

I got decent rates for a 1993 Mercury Sable in San Diego, California. Ended up at roughly $80 every six months with AIG Insurance. Not sure if rates are cheaper online or not. Liability only on my Sable.

In Phoenix, AZ try State Farm or Progressive. Both had decent prices.

Not sure what I should be paying. I’m just west of Seattle, Washington. I compared lots of rates. Saved darn near $20 a month. 21st Century was the best choice for me. Left Eastwood to switch. Thankfully I have a good driving record. I only have liability coverage on it.

  8. Trista Guy

I’m looking for cheaper coverage. Got a quote with AAA for my 1993 Mercury Sable and saved around $110 a year. Was with Hartford. Got better coverage too. LOL Next renewal I’ll just do liability.

I got quite a few price quotes for a 1993 Mercury Sable in Oklahoma City, OK. Ended up at darn near $80 every six months with American Family. Insured with Progressive before. Teenage drivers are expensive! Book value doesn’t justify full coverage anymore.

$100 to anyone who understands their policy.
