1994 Isuzu Rodeo Insurance Rates – 9 Tips to Save

Are you tired of scraping nickels together to make your insurance coverage payment? You are no different than millions of other consumers. You have so many auto insurance companies to choose from, and even though it’s nice to have multiple companies, it makes it harder to compare company pricing.

Finding affordable coverage is quite easy. If you currently have car insurance, you should be able to lower your premiums substantially using these techniques. Drivers only need an understanding of the most effective way to buy car insurance over the internet.

Cheaper rates by taking advantage of these nine discounts

Car insurance is expensive, but there could be available discounts that you may not know about. Certain discounts will be applied at the time you complete a quote, but some must be asked about in order for you to get them. If you do not double check each discount you qualify for, you could be paying more than you need to.

  • College Student – College-age children who attend college more than 100 miles from home without a vehicle on campus can be insured at a reduced rate.
  • Senior Citizen Rates – Seniors may receive better car insurance rates on Rodeo coverage.
  • Good Grades Discount – Maintaining excellent grades may save you up to 25%. The discount lasts up to age 25.
  • Payment Method – By paying your entire bill at once instead of paying each month you could save up to 5%.
  • Own a Home – Just being a homeowner can save a few bucks because of the fact that having a home requires personal responsibility.
  • Federal Employees – Being employed by or retired from a federal job can earn a discount up to 10% on Rodeo coverage depending on your company.
  • Air Bags and Passive Restraints – Vehicles equipped with air bags can qualify for discounts up to 30%.
  • Drive Safe and Save – Drivers who avoid accidents can save as much as half off their rates on Rodeo coverage as compared to drivers with claims.
  • Accident Forgiveness Coverage – Not a discount per se, but some insurance companies will allow you to have one accident before raising your premiums if you are claim-free prior to the accident.

While discounts sound great, it’s important to understand that many deductions do not apply the the whole policy. Some only apply to the cost of specific coverages such as comprehensive or collision. Even though it may seem like adding up those discounts means a free policy, that’s just not realistic.

A few companies that may offer these benefits include:

Before you buy a policy, ask every prospective company which credits you are entitled to. Some discounts listed above may not apply everywhere. If you would like to see a list of insurers that provide some of the discounts listed above, click this link.

How much insurance do I need?

When choosing proper insurance coverage, there really is no one size fits all plan. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. Here are some questions about coverages that may help you determine if your situation would benefit from an agent’s advice.

  • I have good health insurance, so how much medical payments coverage do I need?
  • Are my friends covered when driving my car?
  • How high should my uninsured/underinsured coverage be in my state?
  • Should I buy only the required minimum liability coverage?
  • Why am I required to buy liability insurance?
  • Am I better off with higher deductibles on my 1994 Isuzu Rodeo?

If you can’t answer these questions but you know they apply to you, you might consider talking to an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, take a second and complete this form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It is quick, free and can help protect your family.

Save $491 a year? Really?

Consumers can’t get away from all the ads that promise big savings for switching from the likes of Allstate, Geico and Progressive. All the ads make an identical promise that drivers will save a bundle just by switching your policy.

How is it possible that every company can offer you a better deal?

Insurance companies have specific criteria for the right customer that earns them a profit. For example, a driver they prefer might be described as over the age of 45, has a clean driving record, and drives a lower-performance vehicle. Anyone who fits those characteristics will get the preferred car insurance rates and will also save when they switch companies.

Potential customers who fall short of these stringent criteria may be forced to pay higher prices which usually ends up with the customer buying from a different company. If you pay attention, the ads say “customers that switch” not “everyone that quotes” can save as much as they claim. That’s why companies can truthfully make claims that they all have the best rates. Because of the profiling, drivers must do a rate comparison at every renewal. It’s impossible to know the company that will provide the lowest prices.

Insurance policy coverages for a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo

Understanding the coverages of a insurance policy can be of help when determining the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. Policy terminology can be difficult to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. Shown next are the usual coverages available from insurance companies.

Comprehensive coverages

Comprehensive insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first must pay your deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive can pay for things like hitting a bird, falling objects, hail damage and rock chips in glass. The highest amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

Uninsured and underinsured coverage

Your UM/UIM coverage protects you and your vehicle from other motorists when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. Covered claims include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Isuzu Rodeo.

Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked.

Coverage for collisions

This pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision coverage protects against claims like colliding with another moving vehicle, backing into a parked car, sideswiping another vehicle, sustaining damage from a pot hole and damaging your car on a curb. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider removing coverage from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Another option is to raise the deductible to save money on collision insurance.

Coverage for medical payments

Medical payments and Personal Injury Protection insurance reimburse you for immediate expenses such as X-ray expenses, chiropractic care, dental work, funeral costs and hospital visits. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if you lack health insurance entirely. They cover all vehicle occupants as well as being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP is not an option in every state and may carry a deductible

Liability car insurance

Liability coverage provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to other’s property or people that is your fault. This insurance protects YOU against other people’s claims, and does not provide coverage for your own vehicle damage or injuries.

Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. As an example, you may have policy limits of 25/50/25 which means $25,000 bodily injury coverage, a per accident bodily injury limit of $50,000, and $25,000 of coverage for damaged propery.

Liability can pay for claims such as bail bonds, court costs, attorney fees and structural damage. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but you should buy as large an amount as possible.

Quote often and quote early

As you go through the steps to switch your coverage, make sure you don’t reduce coverage to reduce premium. In too many instances, consumers will sacrifice liability limits or collision coverage to discover at claim time that the savings was not a smart move. The ultimate goal is to buy a smart amount of coverage at the best cost, but do not sacrifice coverage to save money.

Low-cost 1994 Isuzu Rodeo insurance can be bought both online and with local insurance agents, and you should compare rates from both to have the best selection. Some companies do not provide price quotes online and these regional insurance providers prefer to sell through independent agents.

I’m in Huntington, WV, and State Farm rates were affordable. Highly recommended.

  2. Librada Davidson

Cheap is relative. I live west of Provo, Utah. Got quotes with 21st Century, American Family, and some I forget for my 1994 Isuzu Rodeo and I’m now saving $13 a month. Insured with American Family before. I get multi-vehicle and multi-policy discounts. Might find lower rates online. I think I’ll get rid of full coverage next time.

  3. Delena Kirkland

If you have a good history and live around Columbus, Ohio, check out Allstate. You might get cheaper rates. God forbid I actually have a claim. I don’t have comp or collision coverage.

FYI in Denver, CO try 21st Century. I got a good deal.

  5. Felipa Murphy

Like your site, BTW. I live just to the north of Jacksonville, FL. I don’t recall every quote but I ended up saving about $20 each month. Only insure liability on my Isuzu.

If you don’t have tickets and are close to Shreveport, LA, check out Allstate. They seem to be cheaper. Might find lower rates online. Book value doesn’t justify full coverage anymore.

21st Century quoted the best rates in Pennsylvania.

  8. Alexander Summers

I’m in the west part of Spokane, Washington. Quoted with Auto-Owners, Mercury, and USAA for my 1994 Isuzu Rodeo and saved just over $100 a year. Was with Western Auto Insurance. It never hurts to quote around.
