1995 Suzuki Esteem Car Insurance Quotes – 5 Savings Tips

Trying to find cheaper auto insurance rates for your Suzuki Esteem? If shopping for insurance quotes online is new to you, by this point your are probably baffled by the crazy number of insurance providers offering insurance.

How to compare free auto insurance rate quotes

Comparing auto insurance rates can be a daunting task if you don’t utilize the fastest way to get free quotes. You can spend your afternoon driving to local insurance agents in your area, or you can stay home and use online quoting to maximize your effort.

Many insurance companies take part in a program that allows shoppers to enter their coverage request one time, and every company provides a quote for coverage. This saves time by eliminating quote forms for each company. To compare pricing click to open in new window.

The only downside to getting quotes like this is that you can’t choose the insurers to get pricing from. If you wish to select individual companies to compare prices, we have assembled a list of companies who write auto insurance in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

Which method you use is up to you, but make darn sure you compare the exact same coverages and limits for each price quote. If you enter mixed coverages then you won’t be able to determine which company has the best rates. Quoting even small variations in insurance coverages or limits can result in a big premium difference. Just remember that more quotes increases the change that you will find the best price. Not every company provides online rate quotes, so it’s recommended that you also compare price quotes from the smaller companies as well.

Does car insurance advertising bend the truth?

Progressive, Geico, Allstate and State Farm constantly bombard you with ads in print and on television. They all seem to say the same thing of big savings just by moving to their company. Is it even possible that every company can give you a better price? It’s all in the words they use.

Many companies offer their best rates for the driver that earns them the highest profit. For example, this type of risk profile could be between the ages of 30 and 45, insures multiple vehicles, and has excellent credit. Any customer that meets those criteria will probably get the lowest auto insurance rates and have a good chance to cut their rates substantially.

Consumers who fall outside this ideal profile may receive a more expensive rate which usually ends up with the prospect going elsewhere. The ads say “people that switch” not “everybody who quotes” save that much. That’s why companies can advertise the way they do. This really emphasizes why you really should get price quotes at each policy renewal. It’s just too difficult to predict the company that will have the lowest premium rates for your situation.

More discounts mean affordable premiums

Some insurance providers don’t necessarily list the entire discount list in an easy-to-find place, so we break down both the well known as well as the least known discounts that you may qualify for.

  • Good Driver Discount – Drivers who don’t get into accidents can save up to 40% or more on their insurance quote for Esteem coverage than drivers with accidents.
  • Drivers Ed for Students – Teen drivers should take driver’s ed class in school or through a local driver safety program.
  • Sign Online – A handful of larger companies provide a small discount shop insurance on your computer.
  • College Student Discount – Youth drivers who attend college more than 100 miles from home and do not take a car to college may qualify for this discount.
  • 55 and Retired – Seniors can possibly qualify for a discount up to 10% for Esteem coverage.

Remember that most discounts do not apply to the overall cost of the policy. Most cut the price of certain insurance coverages like comprehensive or collision. So even though it sounds like all the discounts add up to a free policy, it doesn’t quite work that way. But any discount will reduce your premiums.

Larger insurance companies and a selection of discounts can be read below.

  • AAA may include discounts for good driver, good student, pay-in-full, multi-policy, and anti-theft.
  • Progressive may have discounts that include multi-vehicle, homeowner, continuous coverage, online quote discount, multi-policy, online signing, and good student.
  • State Farm offers premium reductions for safe vehicle, multiple autos, driver’s education, student away at school, good driver, and good student.
  • Esurance has discounts for safety device, anti-lock brakes, anti-theft, homeowner, and good driver.
  • Nationwide includes discounts for good student, family plan, defensive driving, Farm Bureau membership, anti-theft, and multi-policy.

Check with every insurance company which discounts you may be entitled to. A few discounts may not be offered in your area. To see a list of companies that can offer you the previously mentioned discounts, click here.

It’s not one size fits all

When buying coverage, there really is not a cookie cutter policy. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs.

For instance, these questions can aid in determining if you would benefit from professional advice.

  • When should my teen driver be added to my policy?
  • I have good health insurance, so how much medical payments coverage do I need?
  • Which is better, split liability limits or combined limits?
  • Do I need PIP coverage since I have good health insurance?
  • Do I really need UM/UIM coverage?
  • Are rock chip repairs covered?
  • Does liability extend to a camper or trailer?
  • When should I remove comp and collision on my 1995 Suzuki Esteem?
  • How can I find cheaper teen driver insurance?
  • Am I covered when delivering products for my home-based business?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions but one or more may apply to you, you might consider talking to an agent. To find an agent in your area, fill out this quick form.

Auto insurance 101

Understanding the coverages of a car insurance policy helps when choosing appropriate coverage at the best deductibles and correct limits. Car insurance terms can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy.

Medical payments and PIP coverage

Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP reimburse you for expenses such as EMT expenses, funeral costs and ambulance fees. They are utilized in addition to your health insurance plan or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to both the driver and occupants and will also cover any family member struck as a pedestrian. Personal Injury Protection is not universally available but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Liability coverages

Liability insurance protects you from damages or injuries you inflict on other’s property or people by causing an accident. Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. As an example, you may have liability limits of 25/50/25 that means you have $25,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.

Liability can pay for claims like court costs, funeral expenses and emergency aid. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is your choice, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as high a limit as you can afford.

Collision protection

Collision coverage covers damage to your Esteem resulting from a collision with another car or object. You have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.

Collision coverage pays for claims like crashing into a building, damaging your car on a curb and sustaining damage from a pot hole. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are older. It’s also possible to raise the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Comprehensive auto coverage

Comprehensive insurance coverage pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first have to pay a deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive insurance covers things like damage from a tornado or hurricane, hitting a bird, hitting a deer, vandalism and damage from flooding. The maximum amount a car insurance company will pay at claim time is the market value of your vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

UM/UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverage

This coverage protects you and your vehicle from other drivers when they either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered claims include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Suzuki Esteem.

Since many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages should not be overlooked.

At the end of the day…

The cheapest 1995 Suzuki Esteem insurance is possible both online in addition to many insurance agents, and you need to comparison shop both to have the best chance of lowering rates. There are still a few companies who may not provide online rate quotes and these regional insurance providers only sell coverage through independent agencies.

Insureds switch companies for a variety of reasons including questionable increases in premium, not issuing a premium refund, lack of trust in their agent or even policy non-renewal. Whatever your reason, finding a great new company is actually quite simple.

As you quote insurance, do not sacrifice coverage to reduce premiums. In too many instances, consumers will sacrifice physical damage coverage and learned later they didn’t purchase enough coverage. The ultimate goal is to find the BEST coverage at the best price, not the least amount of coverage.
