Cheap 2000 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer Car Insurance Cost

Trying to find lower insurance coverage rates for your Chevrolet S-10 Blazer? Have you fallen victim to high-priced insurance coverage? Trust us, you are not the only one feeling buyer’s remorse.

Many insurers compete for your insurance dollar, so it’s not easy to compare every provider to find the absolute best rate

It’s important to quote other rates quite often due to the fact that insurance rates are usually higher with each renewal. Just because you found the lowest premium rates for S-10 Blazer insurance two years ago other companies may now be cheaper. Forget anything you know (or think you know) about insurance coverage because we’re going to demonstrate the fastest and easiest way to save money, get proper deductibles and limits, all at the lowest rate.

The most recommended method to compare insurance rates in your area is to realize almost all companies participate in a system to quote your coverage. The only thing you need to do is provide a small amount of information such as driver details, how much coverage you want, how you use your vehicles, and if it has an alarm system. That information is instantly provided to multiple insurance coverage providers and they respond with quotes instantly.

Auto insurance discounts help lower rates

Auto insurance is expensive, but you may be missing some discounts that you may not know about. Certain credits will be shown when you complete an application, but some need to be requested specifically prior to getting the savings.

  • Multi-Vehicle Discounts – Having more than one vehicle with one company can reduce rates for all insured vehicles.
  • Safe Driver Discounts – Drivers without accidents may save up to 50% more for S-10 Blazer insurance than drivers with accidents.
  • Claim Free – Drivers who don’t have accidents can save substantially in comparison with policyholders that have many claims.
  • Federal Government Employee – Active or retired federal employment could provide a small rate reduction for S-10 Blazer insurance depending on your company.
  • ABS and Traction Control Discounts – Cars, trucks, and SUVs with ABS and/or traction control prevent accidents and will save you 10% or more.
  • Pay Now and Pay Less – By paying your policy upfront rather than paying monthly you may have a lower total premium amount.
  • Driving Data Discount – Policyholders that allow driving data submission to track where and when they drive by installing a telematics device like Drivewise from Allstate or In-Drive from State Farm could see a rate decrease if they have good driving habits.
  • Multi-line Discount – Some companies give a lower auto insurance rate if you buy auto and life insurance together.
  • Accident Forgiveness – This one is not really a discount per se, but some insurance companies will let one accident slide before raising your premiums if you have no claims prior to the accident.

We need to note that some credits don’t apply to your bottom line cost. Some only apply to specific coverage prices like medical payments or collision. Just because you may think you could get a free auto insurance policy, it just doesn’t work that way.

A few of the larger companies and some of the discounts are shown below.

  • State Farm may include discounts for driver’s education, Drive Safe & Save, defensive driving training, good student, multiple policy, and multiple autos.
  • Geico has savings for anti-theft, multi-vehicle, daytime running lights, five-year accident-free, anti-lock brakes, emergency military deployment, and membership and employees.
  • Allstate includes discounts for farm vehicle, passive restraint, defensive driver, senior citizen, and safe driver.
  • SAFECO has discounts for teen safety rewards, anti-lock brakes, anti-theft, homeowner, accident prevention training, and teen safe driver.
  • Farm Bureau may have discounts that include youthful driver, good student, renewal discount, safe driver, driver training, and multi-vehicle.
  • Progressive offers discounts for homeowner, online quote discount, multi-vehicle, online signing, multi-policy, continuous coverage, and good student.
  • AAA discounts include good driver, pay-in-full, education and occupation, anti-theft, and multi-car.

Before you buy a policy, ask each company how you can save money. Some discounts may not apply in your area.

Which is the best insurance?

When buying coverage for your personal vehicles, there is no one size fits all plan. Everyone’s situation is a little different so your insurance needs to address that. For example, these questions may help you determine if your insurance needs will benefit from professional help.

  • Is my custom paint covered by insurance?
  • Does my policy cover my teen driver if they drive my company car?
  • Does insurance cover tools stolen from my truck?
  • Do I need to file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?
  • Am I missing any policy discounts?
  • Do I have newly-aquired coverage?
  • Should I drop comprehensive coverage on older vehicles?
  • Do I get a pro-rated refund if I cancel my policy early?

If you can’t answer these questions but one or more may apply to you, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form or go to this page to view a list of companies.

Parts of your auto insurance policy

Understanding the coverages of your policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need and proper limits and deductibles. Policy terminology can be difficult to understand and reading a policy is terribly boring. These are the usual coverages offered by auto insurance companies.

Liability coverages – This coverage provides protection from damage or injury you incur to a person or their property in an accident. It protects you against claims from other people. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. Your policy might show values of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a total of $100,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery.

Liability insurance covers things like repair costs for stationary objects, medical services, pain and suffering and bail bonds. How much liability should you purchase? That is your choice, but consider buying higher limits if possible.

Medical expense coverage – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for short-term medical expenses such as dental work, prosthetic devices, hospital visits, nursing services and funeral costs. They are used in conjunction with a health insurance plan or if you are not covered by health insurance. Coverage applies to all vehicle occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal Injury Protection is not universally available and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay

Comprehensive protection – Comprehensive insurance coverage will pay to fix damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first must pay your deductible then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive insurance covers claims such as falling objects, damage from flooding, hail damage and hitting a deer. The highest amount your auto insurance company will pay is the actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.

Uninsured or underinsured coverage – This coverage gives you protection when other motorists do not carry enough liability coverage. It can pay for injuries to you and your family and also any damage incurred to your Chevy S-10 Blazer.

Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, their limits can quickly be used up. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is a good idea.

Collision coverages – This coverage pays for damage to your S-10 Blazer caused by collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. You first must pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision coverage protects against claims like colliding with another moving vehicle, backing into a parked car, scraping a guard rail and colliding with a tree. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. You can also raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
