Lower Your 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Insurance Quotes

Having to pay for overpriced car insurance can bottom out your bank account and force you to tighten up your finances. Doing a rate comparison is a great way to ensure you are getting the best deal.

Multiple auto insurance companies compete for your hard-earned dollar, and it can be difficult to compare rates to get the lowest rate possible.

Quote car insurance online

Performing a rate comparison can be challenging if you don’t know the best way to get rate quotes. You can spend your afternoon talking about coverages with insurance companies in your area, or you could save time and use online quoting to get rates in a matter of minutes.

Many insurance companies belong to an insurance system that allows shoppers to enter their policy data once, and each participating company then gives them pricing for coverage. This prevents consumers from doing repetitive form submissions to every company.

The one disadvantage to doing it this way is you are unable to specify the insurers you want to price. If you prefer to choose from a list of companies to compare, we have a listing of companies who write car insurance in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

The method you choose is up to you, but ensure you are comparing the exact same coverage limits for each price quote. If your comparisons have different values for each quote it will be impossible to determine the lowest rate for your Chevy Monte Carlo. Just slight variations in coverage limits can result in a big premium difference. Keep in mind that having more price comparisons helps locate better pricing.

There’s no such thing as the perfect auto insurance policy

When it comes to choosing adequate coverage, there is no single plan that fits everyone. Each situation is unique so your insurance should reflect that Here are some questions about coverages that may help you determine if you will benefit from professional help.

  • Is other people’s property covered if stolen from my vehicle?
  • When can I cancel my policy?
  • Does my policy pay for OEM or aftermarket parts?
  • When can my company non-renew my policy?
  • Am I covered by my spouse’s policy after a separation?
  • Am I covered if I break a side mirror?
  • I have good health insurance, so how much medical payments coverage do I need?
  • Who is covered by my policy?
  • Am I missing any policy discounts?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to an agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, take a second and complete this form or click here for a list of auto insurance companies in your area.

Auto insurance coverage information

Having a good grasp of auto insurance can be of help when determining which coverages you need and the correct deductibles and limits. Policy terminology can be difficult to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. These are typical coverage types found on the average auto insurance policy.

Auto collision coverage

This will pay to fix damage to your Monte Carlo caused by collision with another car or object. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision insurance covers things such as sustaining damage from a pot hole, colliding with a tree and hitting a parking meter. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Another option is to choose a higher deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.

Comprehensive auto coverage

This coverage will pay to fix damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive coverage protects against claims like fire damage, theft, falling objects, vandalism and damage from a tornado or hurricane. The maximum amount you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

UM/UIM (Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist) coverage

Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage gives you protection from other drivers when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered losses include medical payments for you and your occupants as well as your vehicle’s damage.

Because many people carry very low liability coverage limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is a good idea. Normally the UM/UIM limits do not exceed the liability coverage limits.

Auto liability

Liability insurance provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on people or other property. This coverage protects you from legal claims by others. It does not cover damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. You commonly see limits of 25/50/25 which means $25,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000. Alternatively, you may have a combined limit which combines the three limits into one amount without having the split limit caps.

Liability insurance covers claims such as structural damage, legal defense fees and repair costs for stationary objects. How much coverage you buy is up to you, but consider buying higher limits if possible.

Medical payments and PIP coverage

Med pay and PIP coverage provide coverage for immediate expenses such as rehabilitation expenses, doctor visits, X-ray expenses, nursing services and chiropractic care. The coverages can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if you are not covered by health insurance. Medical payments and PIP cover all vehicle occupants as well as getting struck while a pedestrian. Personal injury protection coverage is not available in all states and may carry a deductible
