Cheaper 2003 Porsche Boxster Insurance Rates

Drivers have many options when trying to find affordable Porsche Boxster insurance. You can either waste hours driving around trying to get quotes or utilize the internet to make rate comparisons.

There is a right way and a wrong way to find car insurance online and you need to know the absolute fastest way to quote coverages for a new or used Porsche and obtain the cheapest rates.

It’s important to quote other rates once or twice a year because car insurance prices go up and down regularly. Just because you had the best deal on Boxster insurance six months ago the chances are good that you can find a lower premium rate today. There is a lot of wrong information about car insurance online, but I’m going to show you a lot of great tips on how to lower your car insurance premiums.

How to find affordable auto insurance

There are a variety of methods to compare auto insurance quotes, but there is one way that is less time-consuming than others. You could waste time talking to insurance agencies in your area, or you could save time and use online quotes to accomplish the same thing much quicker.

Most of the larger companies enroll in a system that enables customers to submit one quote, and at least one company then returns a price quote based on the submitted data. This system prevents you from having to do form submissions for every auto insurance company.

One minor caviat to using this type of system is you cannot specify which companies to get quotes from. So if you want to select from a list of companies to compare prices, we put together a list of companies who write auto insurance in your area. Click here to view list.

You can choose any of those ways to find more affodable coverage, but try to use equivalent coverages and limits for every company. If you compare differing limits it will be very difficult to find the best deal for your Porsche Boxster.

When do I need an agent’s advice?

When it comes to choosing adequate coverage for your vehicles, there isn’t really a one size fits all plan. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s.

These are some specific questions might point out whether your personal situation will benefit from professional help.

  • Does my medical payments coverage pay my health insurance deductible?
  • Does my policy cover me when driving someone else’s vehicle?
  • What if I total my 2003 Porsche Boxster and owe more than it’s worth?
  • Are my tools covered if they get stolen from my vehicle?
  • Does coverage extend to a rental car in a foreign country?
  • Should I carry comprehensive and collision coverage?

If you can’t answer these questions but you think they might apply to your situation, you might consider talking to an agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and may give you better protection.

Auto insurance 101

Learning about specific coverages of your auto insurance policy can help you determine which coverages you need and proper limits and deductibles. Auto insurance terms can be confusing and coverage can change by endorsement.

Medical payments coverage and PIP

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage reimburse you for immediate expenses for things like rehabilitation expenses, funeral costs and EMT expenses. They are utilized in addition to your health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. It covers both the driver and occupants as well as if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP is not universally available and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage

This gives you protection when the “other guys” are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. It can pay for medical payments for you and your occupants as well as damage to your Porsche Boxster.

Since a lot of drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is important protection for you and your family. Normally your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.

Auto collision coverage

Collision insurance will pay to fix damage to your Boxster resulting from colliding with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.

Collision coverage pays for claims like colliding with another moving vehicle, rolling your car, crashing into a ditch, backing into a parked car and crashing into a building. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Another option is to increase the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Auto liability

Liability coverage provides protection from injuries or damage you cause to people or other property in an accident. This coverage protects you from legal claims by others, and doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show policy limits of 25/50/25 that translate to $25,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and a total limit of $25,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Some companies may use a combined single limit or CSL which limits claims to one amount without having the split limit caps.

Liability coverage pays for claims such as legal defense fees, repair costs for stationary objects, court costs and pain and suffering. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a decision to put some thought into, but consider buying higher limits if possible.

Comprehensive coverage

This pays to fix your vehicle from damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. A deductible will apply and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive coverage pays for things such as a broken windshield, damage from getting keyed and rock chips in glass. The maximum payout you’ll receive from a claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if the vehicle is not worth much it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
