Trying to find cheaper car insurance rates for your Audi A8? Finding a different company that has the cheapest car insurance may seem to be difficult if you are like the majority of consumers and have never used online rate quotes. Don’t be confused because we’re going to show you how.
Finding the best rates is not rocket science. Essentially every vehicle owner who is required by state law to have auto insurance will more than likely be able to find better rates. Nevertheless, vehicle owners can benefit from knowing how companies price online insurance and take advantage of how the system works.
Many different elements are used when premium rates are determined. Some are obvious like an MVR report, but other criteria are more obscure like your continuous coverage or your vehicle rating. The best way to find cheaper insurance is to take a look at the rating factors that play a part in calculating the rates you pay for insurance. When you understand what determines base rates, this helps enable you to make changes that could result in better insurance rates.
The items below are a partial list of the pieces utilized by car insurance companies to help set your rates.
Insurance can be prohibitively expensive, but there’s a good chance there are discounts to cut the cost considerably. Certain credits will be shown at quote time, but less common discounts must be specially asked for prior to getting the savings.
You can save money using discounts, but some credits don’t apply to the overall cost of the policy. A few only apply to the cost of specific coverages such as liability and collision coverage. If you do the math and it seems like all the discounts add up to a free policy, it’s just not the way it works. But any discount will help lower the amount you have to pay.
A few companies who may offer these benefits include:
If you need lower rates, check with every prospective company the best way to save money. Some discounts might not apply in your state.
Car insurance companies such as Allstate and Progressive consistently run television and radio advertisements. All the companies state the claim that you can save if you get a free car insurance quote and switch to them. Is it even possible that every company can charge less that you’re paying now? This is the trick they use.
All the different companies quote their best rates for the type of driver that will add to their bottom line. One example of a desirable insured could be over age 30, has no tickets, and drives less than 7,500 miles a year. A customer that hits that “sweet spot” may get the lowest premium rates and is almost guaranteed to save a lot if they switch.
Drivers who do not match the “perfect” profile must pay a more expensive rate and the prospect going elsewhere. If you pay close attention to the ads, they say “people that switch” not “all people who quote” save that much when switching. This is how companies can truthfully make it sound like they have such great premium rates. This really drives home the point why you should compare free car insurance quotes often. Because you never know which car insurance company will be your best fit.
When choosing adequate coverage, there really is no perfect coverage plan. Every insured’s situation is different.
Here are some questions about coverages that may help highlight if your insurance needs may require specific advice.
If you can’t answer these questions, you may need to chat with a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, simply complete this short form.
Learning about specific coverages of auto insurance can be of help when determining the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy.
Collision – Collision insurance covers damage to your A8 caused by collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You first must pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage protects against things like hitting a parking meter, colliding with another moving vehicle and rolling your car. This coverage can be expensive, so consider dropping it from older vehicles. Drivers also have the option to choose a higher deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for short-term medical expenses such as doctor visits, EMT expenses, hospital visits, funeral costs and surgery. They can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance program or if you lack health insurance entirely. Medical payments and PIP cover all vehicle occupants and will also cover if you are hit as a while walking down the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not available in all states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage
Comprehensive insurance – Comprehensive insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive insurance covers claims such as fire damage, damage from a tornado or hurricane and damage from flooding. The maximum payout you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if the vehicle’s value is low it’s not worth carrying full coverage.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – This coverage gives you protection when the “other guys” either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered claims include injuries to you and your family and damage to your Audi A8.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is very important.
Liability auto insurance – This coverage will cover damage that occurs to a person or their property that is your fault. It protects you from legal claims by others, and does not provide coverage for damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.
Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. You commonly see liability limits of 25/50/25 which means a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, a limit of $50,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $25,000.
Liability insurance covers claims such as medical expenses, repair bills for other people’s vehicles, pain and suffering and repair costs for stationary objects. How much coverage you buy is your choice, but buy as high a limit as you can afford.
Throughout this article, we presented some good ideas how to shop for 2004 Audi A8 insurance online. It’s most important to understand that the more providers you compare, the higher the chance of saving money. You may even find the most savings is with some of the lesser-known companies.
Cost effective 2004 Audi A8 insurance is available both online and from local agencies, and you should compare rates from both to have the best chance of lowering rates. Some companies may not offer price quotes online and these smaller companies provide coverage only through independent agents.
When getting car insurance quotes online, do not sacrifice coverage to reduce premiums. Too many times, an insured cut collision coverage and found out when filing a claim that the few dollars in savings costed them thousands. Your goal should be to purchase plenty of coverage at a price you can afford, but do not sacrifice coverage to save money.

Just a quick comment on my experience. I live south of Concord, NH. Compared quite a few companies. Saved darn near $10 a month. State Farm was the most affordable for me. They have a lot of discounts available. Not sure if rates are cheaper online or through an agent. I’m thinking about dropping full coverage though.
