Save on 2004 Dodge Neon Car Insurance Cost

There isn’t anyone who loves paying for insurance, especially knowing the cost is too high.

Many insurance companies compete for your insurance dollar, and because of this it can be hard to compare insurers and uncover the absolute lowest rate

It’s important to price shop coverage periodically due to the fact that insurance prices change quite often. Despite the fact that you may have had the best price on Neon coverage a couple years back you will most likely find a better rate today. Don’t believe everything you read about insurance out there, but in a few minutes you can learn some excellent ideas to put money back in your pocket.

The fastest way that we advise to compare car insurance rates is to take advantage of the fact auto insurance companies allow for online access to give free rates quotes. The only thing you need to do is give them some information like your occupation, how much education you have, the type of vehicles you drive, and your general credit rating. Your information gets transmitted to insurance carriers in your area and you receive quotes quickly.

When do I need an agent’s advice?

When buying adequate coverage, there is no cookie cutter policy. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s so your insurance should reflect that Here are some questions about coverages that may help highlight whether your personal situation might need an agent’s assistance.

  • Do I need added coverage for expensive stereo equipment?
  • Am I covered if I crash into my own garage door?
  • At what point should I drop full coverage?
  • When should I drop full coverage on my 2004 Dodge Neon?
  • How can I find cheaper teen driver insurance?
  • Does my liability insurance cover pulling a trailer or camper?
  • What if I total my 2004 Dodge Neon and owe more than it’s worth?
  • Where can I find high-risk insurance?
  • What is the minimum liability in my state?
  • Does my car insurance cover rental cars?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but a few of them apply, then you may want to think about talking to a licensed insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, simply complete this short form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area.

Coverages available on your policy

Having a good grasp of auto insurance helps when choosing which coverages you need for your vehicles. The terms used in a policy can be difficult to understand and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Listed below are the usual coverages offered by auto insurance companies.

Collision protection

This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Neon from colliding with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies and then insurance will cover the remainder.

Collision can pay for claims like crashing into a building, rolling your car, damaging your car on a curb and driving through your garage door. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider removing coverage from older vehicles. It’s also possible to choose a higher deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Comprehensive insurance

Comprehensive insurance pays for damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You first have to pay a deductible and the remainder of the damage will be paid by comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive can pay for things like damage from a tornado or hurricane, fire damage and damage from flooding. The maximum payout a auto insurance company will pay at claim time is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage pay for bills for things like surgery, X-ray expenses, pain medications and funeral costs. They can be used in conjunction with a health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. It covers all vehicle occupants and will also cover being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP coverage is not available in all states but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)

This coverage protects you and your vehicle when the “other guys” are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered losses include medical payments for you and your occupants as well as damage to your Dodge Neon.

Due to the fact that many drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage is a good idea.

Liability coverage

Liability coverage provides protection from damage that occurs to other’s property or people in an accident. This coverage protects you against other people’s claims, and doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. You might see values of 100/300/100 that translate to a limit of $100,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $300,000, and a limit of $100,000 paid for damaged property.

Liability coverage protects against claims such as loss of income, medical expenses and emergency aid. How much liability should you purchase? That is a decision to put some thought into, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
