2015 Nissan Versa Note Insurance Rates

No one likes buying insurance coverage, in particular when their premiums are through the roof. Many auto insurance companies vie for your hard-earned dollar, and it can be difficult to compare rates and uncover the absolute cheapest price

How to get free auto insurance quotes online

There are multiple methods you can shop for auto insurance but there is one way that is less time-consuming than others. You can waste a lot of time talking about coverages with insurance companies in your area, or you can stay home and use online quotes to get pricing more quickly.

Most of the best insurance companies enroll in a system that enables customers to enter their coverage request one time, and each company provides a quote determined by their information. This saves time by eliminating quote forms to each company. To fill out one form to compare multiple rates now click here to open in new window.

The one downside to doing it this way is buyers cannot specifically choose which companies to receive prices from. So if you prefer to choose specific insurance companies to compare, we have assembled a list of low cost auto insurance companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

You can use whichever method you prefer to find lower rates, just double check that you are using exactly the same deductibles and coverage limits on every quote. If you use mixed coverages you will not be able to make an equal comparison.

It’s not one size fits all

When buying the right insurance coverage, there isn’t really a one size fits all plan. Everyone’s situation is unique so this has to be addressed. Here are some questions about coverages that could help you determine if your insurance needs would benefit from an agent’s advice.

  • Is my teen driver covered when they drive my company car?
  • I have good health insurance, so how much medical payments coverage do I need?
  • What is the rate difference between pleasure use and commuting?
  • Who is covered by my policy?
  • Can I make deliveries for my home business?
  • What if I total my 2015 Nissan Versa Note and owe more than it’s worth?
  • Should I file a claim if it’s only slightly more than my deductible?
  • Why am I required to buy liability insurance?
  • What is an SR-22 filing?
  • What is covered by UM/UIM coverage?

If you’re not sure about those questions, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. If you don’t have a local agent, fill out this quick form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It only takes a few minutes and can provide invaluable advice.

Auto insurance 101

Learning about specific coverages of your insurance policy helps when choosing the right coverages and the correct deductibles and limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy. Below you’ll find typical coverage types found on the average insurance policy.

Comprehensive coverage

Comprehensive insurance pays for damage caused by mother nature, theft, vandalism and other events. You need to pay your deductible first then your comprehensive coverage will pay.

Comprehensive coverage protects against claims like a broken windshield, hail damage, damage from getting keyed and vandalism. The most you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider removing comprehensive coverage.

Auto liability insurance

Liability insurance will cover injuries or damage you cause to other people or property by causing an accident. It protects you from claims by other people, and does not provide coverage for damage sustained by your vehicle in an accident.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. You commonly see policy limits of 100/300/100 which means a limit of $100,000 per injured person, a total of $300,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and a total limit of $100,000 for damage to vehicles and property. Another option is one number which is a combined single limit which provides one coverage limit without having the split limit caps.

Liability insurance covers things such as emergency aid, repair costs for stationary objects, repair bills for other people’s vehicles, bail bonds and legal defense fees. How much liability should you purchase? That is a personal decision, but consider buying as high a limit as you can afford.

Auto collision coverage

Collision insurance will pay to fix damage to your Versa Note resulting from a collision with a stationary object or other vehicle. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision can pay for claims like driving through your garage door, crashing into a ditch, backing into a parked car, damaging your car on a curb and colliding with another moving vehicle. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from lower value vehicles. It’s also possible to raise the deductible in order to get cheaper collision rates.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage

Your UM/UIM coverage provides protection from other motorists when they either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. It can pay for medical payments for you and your occupants and damage to your 2015 Nissan Versa Note.

Since many drivers carry very low liability coverage limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is very important. Usually your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages do not exceed the liability coverage limits.

Medical payments coverage and PIP

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage reimburse you for immediate expenses for pain medications, dental work, ambulance fees and surgery. They can be utilized in addition to your health insurance program or if you do not have health coverage. It covers not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants and will also cover being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal Injury Protection is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
