Lower Your 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Car Insurance Rates

Comparing and finding low cost prices for insurance coverage is hard for drivers not familiar with buying insurance online. With so many agents and insurers available, it can easily be a real challenge to locate the lowest prices.

It is always a good idea to do price comparisons occasionally because rates are rarely the same from one policy term to another. Even if you got the lowest premium rates on Corvette insurance on your last policy there is a good chance you can find better prices now. Block out anything you think you know about insurance coverage because I’m going to teach you the quickest way to find better rates and still maintain coverage.

How to buy auto insurance

There are several ways you can shop for auto insurance and some are less labor-intensive and much quicker. You could waste a few hours discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you can stay home and use the web to maximize your effort.

All the larger companies take part in a program that allows shoppers to submit their information once, and each company provides a quote based on that data. This system prevents you from having to do repetitive form submissions to each individual auto insurance company.

The one disadvantage to using this type of system is that you can’t choose the insurers to get quotes from. If you wish to select individual companies to compare rates, we put together a list of auto insurance companies in your area. Click here to view list.

The method you choose is up to you, but make darn sure you compare exactly the same deductibles and coverage limits for each quote you get. If the quotes have mixed coverages you will not be able to determine which rate is truly the best. Just a small difference in coverages can result in a big premium difference. Just keep in mind that comparing more rates from different companies will improve the odds of getting more affordable rates.

Tailor your insurance coverage to you

When buying the best insurance coverage for your personal vehicles, there really is no “best” method to buy coverage. Every insured’s situation is different.

For example, these questions might help in determining if your situation will benefit from professional help.

  • If my 2016 Chevy Corvette is totaled, can I afford another vehicle?
  • Should I have a commercial auto policy?
  • Does car insurance cover theft of personal property?
  • What is high-risk coverage and where do I buy it?
  • How can I find cheaper teen driver insurance?
  • Who is covered when they drive my 2016 Chevy Corvette?
  • Does my personal policy cover me when driving out-of-state?
  • Does coverage extend to Mexico or Canada?
  • Do I need to file an SR-22 for a DUI in my state?

If you’re not sure about those questions but you know they apply to you, you might consider talking to a licensed agent. If you want to speak to an agent in your area, simply complete this short form.

Specific coverage details

Knowing the specifics of your auto insurance policy can be of help when determining the best coverages for your vehicles. The coverage terms in a policy can be confusing and nobody wants to actually read their policy.

UM/UIM Coverage – Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage provides protection from other motorists when they are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. This coverage pays for hospital bills for your injuries and also any damage incurred to your Chevy Corvette.

Because many people only carry the minimum required liability limits, their liability coverage can quickly be exhausted. For this reason, having high UM/UIM coverages is important protection for you and your family. Usually these limits are similar to your liability insurance amounts.

Medical costs insurance – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage kick in for immediate expenses for chiropractic care, ambulance fees and X-ray expenses. They are often used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. It covers all vehicle occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is not an option in every state but can be used in place of medical payments coverage

Comprehensive or Other Than Collision – Comprehensive insurance will pay to fix damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first must pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.

Comprehensive can pay for claims like vandalism, rock chips in glass, damage from flooding, a tree branch falling on your vehicle and fire damage. The highest amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.

Liability coverages – This coverage will cover damage that occurs to people or other property that is your fault. This insurance protects YOU from legal claims by others. Liability doesn’t cover damage to your own property or vehicle.

Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. As an example, you may have policy limits of 50/100/50 that translate to a limit of $50,000 per injured person, a per accident bodily injury limit of $100,000, and property damage coverage for $50,000. Some companies may use a combined limit which combines the three limits into one amount with no separate limits for injury or property damage.

Liability coverage protects against claims like structural damage, repair bills for other people’s vehicles, court costs and emergency aid. The amount of liability coverage you purchase is a decision to put some thought into, but you should buy as much as you can afford.

Collision coverage – This coverage will pay to fix damage to your Corvette resulting from colliding with another car or object. A deductible applies then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.

Collision can pay for claims such as crashing into a ditch, hitting a parking meter, colliding with a tree, crashing into a building and driving through your garage door. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from lower value vehicles. You can also raise the deductible to save money on collision insurance.
