When trying to find cheaper insurance, are you overwhelmed by the crazy number of car insurance companies that you can choose from? There are such a large number of options that it can easily turn into a difficult situation to find the perfect company for you.
To find the best insurance prices, there are several ways to get quotes from different companies. The simplest method to find the cheapest 2016 Kia Optima Hybrid insurance rates consists of obtaining rate quotes online. It’s really quite simple and can be done in several different ways.
One of the best ways to compare a lot of rates at once is to use a rate comparison form like this one (opens in new window). This style of form eliminates the need for repetitive form submissions for each company you want a rate for. One simple form gets coverage cost estimates from all major companies. Just one form and you’re done.
A more time consuming way to shop for insurance online is to take the time to go to the website for each individual company and request a quote. For sake of this example, let’s say you want to compare prices for Geico, Liberty Mutual and Travelers. To get rate quotes you would need to spend time going to each site individually and punch in your information repeatedly, which can get rather old.

You can choose any of those ways to find more affordable coverage, but compare the same coverage limits and deductibles on every quote. If the quotes have different limits and deductibles on each one it’s impossible to determine the lowest rate for your Kia Optima Hybrid. Just slight variations in coverages could mean much higher rates. And when comparison shopping, comparing all the rates in your area will enable you to find more affordable rates. Not every company does price estimates online, so it’s necessary to compare quotes from them as well.
When choosing proper insurance coverage, there really is no “perfect” insurance plan. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s.
Here are some questions about coverages that may help you determine if your insurance needs might need an agent’s assistance.
If you can’t answer these questions but one or more may apply to you, you may need to chat with an insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form.
Having a good grasp of insurance helps when choosing the best coverages and proper limits and deductibles. Insurance terms can be ambiguous and coverage can change by endorsement.
Comprehensive (Other than Collision)
This coverage pays for damage from a wide range of events other than collision. You first have to pay a deductible and then insurance will cover the rest of the damage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against things like a broken windshield, theft, damage from a tornado or hurricane and hitting a deer. The maximum payout you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value consider removing comprehensive coverage.
Protection from uninsured/underinsured drivers
This gives you protection when the “other guys” are uninsured or don’t have enough coverage. Covered claims include hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your Kia Optima Hybrid.
Since a lot of drivers have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. That’s why carrying high Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage is very important.
Liability auto insurance
Liability insurance protects you from damage that occurs to people or other property that is your fault. It protects YOU against other people’s claims. It does not cover your own vehicle damage or injuries.
Coverage consists of three different limits, bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. Your policy might show liability limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 bodily injury coverage, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery.
Liability coverage pays for claims such as funeral expenses, medical services, court costs and structural damage. How much liability coverage do you need? That is a personal decision, but you should buy as high a limit as you can afford.
Medical expense insurance
Coverage for medical payments and/or PIP kick in for short-term medical expenses such as rehabilitation expenses, nursing services, doctor visits, surgery and EMT expenses. They are used to fill the gap from your health insurance policy or if there is no health insurance coverage. They cover not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants and will also cover if you are hit as a while walking down the street. PIP coverage is not an option in every state and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
Collision coverage will pay to fix damage to your Optima Hybrid caused by collision with another car or object. You first must pay a deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.
Collision coverage protects against claims such as colliding with another moving vehicle, backing into a parked car, scraping a guard rail and colliding with a tree. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from older vehicles. Drivers also have the option to increase the deductible to save money on collision insurance.

Well-written and thought out article. I live on the east side of Saint Louis, Missouri. Got car insurance quotes from State Farm, Hanover, and Erie for my 2016 Kia Optima Hybrid and I think I saved around $60 each month. Was with Mercury. I have kids on my policy, too. Might find lower rates online.

I think State Farm has low rates in Pennsylvania. For me anyway.
