Searching for the cheapest car insurance rates for your Mercedes-Benz E-Class? Tired of trying to scrape together enough money to insure your Mercedes-Benz every month? You have the same problem as most other drivers. Insurance companies such as State Farm, Progressive and Geico promote their brand names with TV and radio ads and consumers find it hard to see through the cute green geckos and mayhem and take the time to shop coverage around.
Consumers should take time to check car insurance prices before your next renewal because insurance prices are constantly changing. If you had the best rates on E-Class coverage a year ago you can probably find a lower rate today. Forget anything you know (or think you know) about car insurance because I’m going to let you in on the secrets to the tricks you need to know to find great coverage at a great price.
If you have a policy now or need a new policy, you can use this information to reduce the price you pay and still get good coverage. Choosing the best insurance company for you is quite easy. Consumers just need to know the best way to shop over the internet.
Lots of factors are considered when you get a price on insurance. Some are obvious like an MVR report, although some other factors are more transparent such as your credit history or your vehicle rating.
Shopping for lower insurance coverage rates can take time and effort if you don’t know the fastest way to get free quotes. You can waste a lot of time discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you could save time and use online quoting to quickly compare rates.
Many of the larger companies enroll in a system that allows shoppers to enter their policy data once, and each participating company returns a rated price based on that information. This prevents consumers from doing quote forms for each company.

The only drawback to getting quotes like this is that you can’t choose the insurers you want to price. If you wish to select specific insurance companies to receive pricing from, we have a listing of the cheapest insurance coverage companies in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.
Whichever way you use, be sure to compare the exact same coverage information with every price quote. If the quotes have different liability limits it will be nearly impossible to truly determine the lowest rate.
Consumers can’t get away from all the ads that claim the cheapest auto insurance rates by companies like Geico, State Farm and Progressive. All the companies tend to make the same promise about savings if you just switch your car insurance coverage to their company.
But how can every company give you a lower rate?
Companies can use profiling for the right customer that earns them the highest profit. One example of a driver they prefer might have to be over the age of 45, has a clear driving record, and drives less than 10,000 miles a year. Someone who fits those characteristics will probably get the lowest prices and will save a lot if they switch.
Potential customers who are not a match for those criteria will be quoted a more expensive rate and this can result in the customer not purchasing. The trick is to say “customers who switch” not “all people who quote” save the amount stated. That’s the way insurance companies can state the savings.
Because of these techniques, drivers must compare rate quotes every year. Because you cannot predict which car insurance company will be your best fit.
Some providers don’t list their entire list of discounts very well, so we break down some of the best known as well as the least known discounts that you may qualify for. If you are not receiving all the discounts you deserve, you may be paying too high a price.
As is typical with insurance, some credits don’t apply to the entire cost. Some only reduce the price of certain insurance coverages like comprehensive or collision. So despite the fact that it appears it’s possible to get free car insurance, you’re out of luck.
A few of the larger companies and some of the premium reductions they offer are detailed below.
Before buying, ask each company or agent how you can save money. Some discounts may not apply to policyholders in your area. To find companies who offer insurance coverage discounts, follow this link.
When buying the right insurance coverage, there really is not a perfect coverage plan. Coverage needs to be tailored to your specific needs so this has to be addressed. Here are some questions about coverages that can help discover whether you might need an agent’s assistance.
If you’re not sure about those questions but a few of them apply then you might want to talk to an insurance agent. To find an agent in your area, complete this form or go to this page to view a list of companies. It’s fast, doesn’t cost anything and may give you better protection.
Learning about specific coverages of your policy can be of help when determining the best coverages and the correct deductibles and limits. Insurance terms can be confusing and coverage can change by endorsement. Shown next are the normal coverages found on most insurance policies.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage provide coverage for immediate expenses for X-ray expenses, EMT expenses and hospital visits. They can be used in conjunction with a health insurance program or if you do not have health coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants in addition to any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP coverage is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – Your UM/UIM coverage protects you and your vehicle when the “other guys” do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Because many people have only the minimum liability required by law, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. This is the reason having UM/UIM coverage is a good idea. Most of the time the UM/UIM limits are identical to your policy’s liability coverage.
Comprehensive insurance – Comprehensive insurance pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first have to pay a deductible then your comprehensive coverage will pay.
Comprehensive insurance covers claims like vandalism, falling objects, fire damage, hitting a bird and damage from flooding. The maximum amount a insurance company will pay at claim time is the actual cash value, so if your deductible is as high as the vehicle’s value it’s probably time to drop comprehensive insurance.
Liability – This can cover damage that occurs to other people or property. This coverage protects you from claims by other people. It does not cover your injuries or vehicle damage.
It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show liability limits of 25/50/25 which means a $25,000 limit per person for injuries, $50,000 for the entire accident, and a limit of $25,000 paid for damaged property. Some companies may use a combined limit which provides one coverage limit without having the split limit caps.
Liability can pay for things like court costs, repair costs for stationary objects and funeral expenses. How much coverage you buy is a personal decision, but buy higher limits if possible.
Collision coverage – This pays for damage to your E-Class from colliding with another car or object. A deductible applies and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.
Collision coverage pays for things such as hitting a mailbox, crashing into a ditch, crashing into a building and colliding with a tree. Paying for collision coverage can be pricey, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are older. Drivers also have the option to increase the deductible to bring the cost down.
Lower-priced car insurance can be found both online and from local insurance agents, so you should be comparing quotes from both in order to have the best chance of saving money. Some car insurance companies may not have rate quotes online and usually these smaller providers prefer to sell through independent insurance agencies.
We just showed you quite a bit of information on how to compare 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class insurance prices online. It’s most important to understand that the more providers you compare, the higher the chance of saving money. You may even find the lowest priced car insurance comes from the smaller companies.
